Roger C. Hobbs

Roger C. Hobbs currently serves as President of the R.C. Hobbs Company, a full service real estate development and consulting organizations.  Mr. Hobbs was the founding Chairman of California City Bank, NA; former President of Birtcher-Hobbs Communities and a trustee for the California Real Estate Trust, a public REIT.  In addition, Mr. Hobbs was a founding Vice President of KSL Development Corporation based in La Quinta, California. Mr. Hobbs earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and a Master’s Degree in Administration from the University of Southern California (USC).  Additionally, he completed the two-year Executive Management Program at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) as well as attending Harvard Graduate Extended Education Programs.

Over the past thirty (30) years, he has successfully sold, developed and managed nearly one billion dollars of real estate in California and Montana.  His projects have been recognized with local, state and national awards.  He has successfully completed nearly 5,000 houses and apartments.

A noted authority and featured speaker in the real estate industry, Mr. Hobbs has taught graduate and undergraduate courses at the University of California, Irvine; California State University, Fullerton; Chapman University and University of Montana, as well as real estate and executive seminars throughout the United States.  He serves on the faculty of the Real Estate Development Institute, and the National Certificate Program for the Graduate Builder Institute offered by the National Association of Homebuilders.  He holds the rank of Trustee Professor at Chapman University.  In addition to his teaching experience, Mr. Hobbs has considerable international business experience, having served as the managing partner for several multi-million dollar joint venture projects with foreign-based companies.

In late 2004, Mr. Hobbs was appointed the founding Director of Chapman University Center for Real Estate, as well as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of Orange.   In addition, Mr. Hobbs serves on the Board of Directors of the Orange County Business Council (Chairman of the Workforce Housing Task Force), Director of the New Majority of Orange County, as well as the Founder and Chairman of the R.C. Hobbs Institute for Real Estate, Law and Environmental Studies at Chapman University. He was recently named 2006 “Citizen of the Year” by the Orange Chamber of Commerce.
